Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

What is the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing focuses on organizing and adjusting all the individual elements of a song, such as vocals, instruments, and effects, to achieve a harmonious sound balance. Mastering, on the other hand, is the final process of preparing and optimizing the audio file for distribution. While mixing aims to create a balanced version of the track, mastering ensures that this version sounds perfect across all formats and platforms, such as CDs, digital platforms, or vinyl.

What kind of files should I send for mixing or mastering?

For mixing, we recommend sending individual audio tracks in uncompressed formats such as WAV or AIFF, without any added effects or processing. Ensure that all tracks have enough headroom and are not clipped.
For mastering, the final mixed file should be of the highest possible quality, ideally in WAV or AIFF format, at 24-bit or 32-bit floating-point resolution, with a sample rate of 44.1kHz or higher.

What is "audio for multimedia, Foley, and soundscapes"?

"Audio for multimedia" encompasses any type of audio production created to complement visual projects such as films, video games, commercials, presentations, and more. This includes everything from sound effects (Foley) and original music composition to mixing and mastering audio for audiovisual projects.
